LifeIndex is a software application that generates personalised astrological insights based on Vedic astrology principles, ephemeris computations, and AI-generated text. The Service is offered solely for entertainment, cultural exploration, and self-reflection. Astrology is not a science. Nothing produced by the Service is verified by any scientific body and no claim of empirical accuracy is made.

2. NOT PROFESSIONAL ADVICE OF ANY KIND
LifeIndex does NOT provide and is not a substitute for: medical advice, diagnosis, treatment or prescription; mental-health counselling, psychiatric treatment, or psychological therapy; legal advice; financial, tax, accounting, investment, or insurance advice; marriage, relationship, family, or career counselling; or any other regulated professional service. Always consult a qualified professional registered to practise in India (for example, a registered medical practitioner, an enrolled advocate, a SEBI-registered investment adviser, or a Chartered Accountant). Never delay or disregard professional advice because of something you read on LifeIndex.

3. NO DRUGS & MAGIC REMEDIES CLAIMS
LifeIndex makes no claim of treatment, cure, diagnosis, alleviation, prevention, or mitigation of any disease, disorder or condition. Nothing produced by the Service is intended to promote any remedy within the meaning of the Drugs and Magic Remedies (Objectionable Advertisements) Act, 1954. Any text produced by the Service that resembles such advice must be ignored for actual decisions.

All readings, predictions, dates, timings, compatibility scores, planetary interpretations, and AI responses are interpretive opinions, not statements of fact. LifeIndex makes no representation, warranty, or guarantee of accuracy, completeness, reliability, suitability, currency, or fitness for any purpose. Outcomes described may never occur. Past-event analysis is reconstructive and may not reflect what actually happened in your life. Consistent with the ASCI Code, the Service does not guarantee any specific result, outcome, or timing.

6. AI-GENERATED CONTENT
Responses are produced by third-party AI language-model systems. AI systems can and do generate inaccurate, misleading, fabricated, or contradictory content (commonly known as "hallucinations"). The same question may yield different answers across sessions. AI output should never be treated as fact, prophecy, or instruction. You must independently verify any information before acting on it.

7. NO RELIANCE FOR IMPORTANT DECISIONS
You agree that you will not rely on the Service for any important life decision, including but not limited to: marriage, divorce, separation, conception, abortion or pregnancy timing; medical treatment, surgery or medication; financial investments, trading, business deals, property purchases or tax decisions; employment changes, immigration, travel or relocation; legal proceedings. Any action you take based on the Service is at your own sole risk.

8. ACCURACY OF YOUR INPUT
Astrological calculations depend entirely on the birth date, time, and place you provide. You are solely responsible for the accuracy of this data. LifeIndex accepts no responsibility for output generated from incomplete, incorrect, or fabricated birth data.

9. CULTURAL AND RELIGIOUS NEUTRALITY
LifeIndex draws on Vedic astrology as a cultural and historical system. The Service is not affiliated with any religion, sect, deity, temple, astrologer, or spiritual organisation. We do not recommend gemstones, rituals, talismans, or any occult remedy. References to planetary energies, dashas, nakshatras, or houses are presented as part of the Vedic system, not as religious instruction.

10. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE INDIAN LAW, LIFEINDEX, ITS OWNERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, AGENTS, AFFILIATES, LICENSORS, AND SERVICE PROVIDERS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES — INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, GOODWILL, RELATIONSHIPS, EMOTIONAL DISTRESS, MENTAL ANGUISH, PHYSICAL HARM, FINANCIAL LOSS, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION — ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF, OR INABILITY TO USE, THE SERVICE OR ANY RELIANCE ON ITS CONTENT. 11. ASSUMPTION OF RISK
You knowingly and voluntarily assume all risk associated with using the Service. By tapping "I agree" and using LifeIndex, you irrevocably acknowledge and accept this Disclaimer in its entirety.

This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, who we share it with, and what rights you have. By using LifeIndex you confirm you have read and understood this Policy.

1. WHO WE ARE (DATA FIDUCIARY)
LifeIndex is operated by [Legal Entity Name], having its registered office at [Registered Office Address, Hyderabad, Telangana – PIN], India. Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP Act") and the Information Technology Act, 2000 read with the SPDI Rules, 2011, LifeIndex is the Data Fiduciary for your personal data and you are the Data Principal.

2. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
(a) Account & identity: name, email, phone number with country code, authentication identifiers from Google/Apple/Facebook sign-in (if used), profile picture (optional), password (stored only as a one-way hash).
(b) Birth data: date, time and place of birth (city, latitude, longitude, timezone, country) — required to compute your Vedic astrological chart. Chart calculations run on our own servers using the Swiss Ephemeris library; your raw birth date, time, place and latitude/longitude never leave our infrastructure — they are not sent to any third-party astrology service nor to any AI language-model provider. Only the computed output (planet positions, nakshatras, dasha periods, transits, etc.) is used downstream. See Section 5.
(c) Lifestyle context (optional): relationship status, employment status, age bracket.
(d) User-generated content: questions you ask Aura, chat history, partner birth data you enter for compatibility readings, feedback, ratings.
(e) Device & usage: device type, OS, app version, IP address, language, timezone, session timestamps, feature usage, crash logs.
(f) Payment data: only transaction identifiers and credit-pack records. We do not see or store full card numbers, CVV, UPI PIN, or bank credentials. Payments are processed by RBI-authorised payment aggregators and, where applicable, app-store billing systems.

3. SENSITIVE PERSONAL DATA OR INFORMATION (SPDI)
Under Rule 3 of the SPDI Rules, we treat the following as SPDI: your password, financial information (transaction identifiers, credit balance), and any physical/physiological/mental-health information you voluntarily share in chat. SPDI is collected only with your explicit consent and handled with the reasonable security practices described in Section 7.

4. LAWFUL BASIS — CONSENT
Under Section 6 of the DPDP Act, we process your personal data on the basis of your free, specific, informed, unconditional and unambiguous consent, given by a clear affirmative action when you create your account and tap "I agree". In limited cases we may also rely on legitimate uses under Section 7 (e.g. to provide a service you requested, to comply with a legal obligation) and on performance of our contract with you. You can withdraw your consent at any time — withdrawal is made as easy as giving consent, via the in-app Delete Account flow or by emailing our Grievance Officer. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of prior processing.

5. HOW WE USE YOUR DATA
• Compute your Vedic astrological chart and generate personalised readings, daily insights, and compatibility reports
• Power the AI assistant ("Aura") with context-aware responses
• Manage your account, credit balance, and purchases
• Detect fraud, abuse, and violation of our Terms
• Communicate service updates, security notices, or changes to legal terms
• Improve the Service using anonymised, aggregated analytics
• Comply with legal and regulatory obligations
We do NOT use your data for targeted advertising, profiling for marketing, or automated decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects. We do NOT sell, rent, or trade your personal data.

6. WHO WE SHARE YOUR DATA WITH
We share personal data only with carefully selected Data Processors strictly to operate the Service, across the following categories:
• Cloud hosting & database provider (primary region: India)
• Authentication provider (email / phone OTP, Google and Apple sign-in)
• AI language-model providers (for chat and reading responses)
• Transactional email provider (password reset, service notifications)
• Payment aggregator(s) (RBI-authorised)
• Crash / diagnostic reporting
We do not disclose specific processor names here since providers may change; the current list can be obtained from our Grievance Officer. We may also disclose your data where required by Indian law, a court or tribunal, or a lawfully authorised government agency, or where necessary to protect our rights, property, or safety, or to investigate fraud.

7. DATA SECURITY
We follow reasonable security practices under Section 43A of the IT Act, 2000 and Rule 8 of the SPDI Rules, aligned with ISO/IEC 27001-style controls:
• Personal data (birth details, chat history, profile data, location coordinates, lifestyle info) is encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM
• Email addresses and sign-in identifiers are stored as one-way HMAC-SHA-256 hashes for lookups
• Passwords are hashed with bcrypt and a per-user salt
• All data in transit is protected by TLS 1.2+
• API access uses signed, time-limited JWTs
• Production data access is role-based and restricted to authorised personnel under strict confidentiality
• We do not log raw birth data, chat content, or authentication secrets in application logs
No system is 100% secure. If a personal data breach is likely to cause harm to you, we will notify you and the Data Protection Board of India as required under Section 8(6) of the DPDP Act.

8. CROSS-BORDER TRANSFERS
Your data is primarily stored in data centres located in India. Some of our processors are outside India; in such cases transfers comply with Section 16 of the DPDP Act. We will not transfer personal data to any country notified as restricted by the Central Government of India, and we bind our processors through contractual safeguards ensuring a level of protection comparable to Indian law.

9. DATA RETENTION
• Active account data is retained while your account is active
• On account deletion, data is soft-deleted immediately and permanently purged within 365 days, except where law (Income-tax Act 1961, GST laws, etc.) requires longer retention of invoices and processing logs
• Anonymised, aggregated analytics may be retained indefinitely
• Backups containing your data are rotated within 90 days

10. YOUR RIGHTS AS A DATA PRINCIPAL
Under the DPDP Act, you have the right to:
• Information about processing (Section 11)
• Correction and erasure of your personal data (Section 12)
• Grievance redressal (Section 13)
• Nominate another individual to exercise your rights in the event of your death or incapacity (Section 14)
• Withdraw consent at any time (Section 6(6))
To exercise any right, write to our Grievance Officer (see Section 13).

11. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
LifeIndex is intended for users aged 18 years or above. Under Section 9 of the DPDP Act, we do not knowingly process personal data of any individual under 18, do not track or monitor children's behaviour, and do not serve targeted advertising to children. If you believe we hold data of a minor, contact our Grievance Officer immediately.

12. COOKIES & LOCAL STORAGE
We use browser localStorage and session cookies to remember your login and preferences. We do not use third-party advertising cookies, marketing pixels, or cross-site tracking.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a legally binding agreement between you ("you", "User") and [Legal Entity Name], having its registered office at [Registered Office Address, Hyderabad, Telangana – PIN], India ("LifeIndex", "we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using the LifeIndex application or website (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms, the Privacy Policy, and the Disclaimer. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These Terms constitute an electronic record under Section 2(t) of the Information Technology Act, 2000 and do not require a physical signature.

1. ELIGIBILITY
You must be at least 18 years old and competent to contract under the Indian Contract Act, 1872. By creating an account you represent that you meet this requirement, are not disqualified from contracting, have not previously been suspended by LifeIndex, and that all information you provide is true, accurate, and current.

2. NATURE OF THE SERVICE
LifeIndex is a software application that generates astrological insights based on Vedic astrology principles, ephemeris computations, and AI-generated text. The Service is provided for entertainment, cultural exploration, and self-reflection only. It is not a medical, mental-health, psychiatric, psychological, legal, financial, tax, investment, marital, or career service. All content is interpretive opinion, not statement of fact. See the Disclaimer for the full list of limitations.

3. ACCOUNT, SECURITY, ACCURACY
• You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activities under your account.
• You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information, especially birth details.
• One account per person. Sharing, transferring, selling, or reselling accounts is prohibited.
• Notify us promptly of any unauthorised use at support@lifeindex.io.
• We may suspend or terminate accounts showing signs of fraud, abuse, automation, or violation of these Terms.

4. CREDITS, PURCHASES & SUBSCRIPTIONS
• Certain features require credits (chat with Aura, deep readings, compatibility, predictions). New users receive a signup bonus.
• Credits are purchased through RBI-authorised payment aggregators and, where available, the Apple App Store or Google Play billing systems. LifeIndex does not store full card numbers, CVV, UPI PIN, or bank credentials.
• Prices for Indian users are shown in Indian Rupees (INR) and are inclusive of applicable GST unless stated otherwise. Tax invoices under the CGST Act, 2017 are made available where we are liable to issue one.
• No cash value: Credits, signup bonuses, referral rewards, and streak rewards have no monetary value, cannot be exchanged for cash, transferred between users, or redeemed outside the Service.
• Refunds: Credits are digital content delivered instantly on payment. By purchasing credits, you expressly request immediate delivery and acknowledge you lose any right to cancel or receive a refund once credits are credited and any part is consumed. Refunds are considered only for (i) duplicate charges, (ii) verified technical failure to credit on our side, or (iii) where required by the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 and the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020. Refund requests must be raised within 7 days via our Grievance Officer and will be processed in 7–14 business days.
• Subscriptions (if offered): auto-renew at the displayed price unless cancelled at least 24 hours before renewal. Recurring payments are subject to RBI e-mandate and Additional Factor Authentication rules. Manage subscriptions through your app-store account.

5. ACCEPTABLE USE
You agree NOT to:
• Use the Service for any unlawful, fraudulent, harmful, defamatory, threatening, harassing, obscene, or infringing purpose, or in violation of the IT Act, 2000, the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, or any other applicable law
• Upload, post, or transmit content prohibited under Rule 3(1)(b) of the IT (Intermediary Guidelines) Rules, 2021, including content that is obscene, paedophilic, invasive of privacy, gender-based harassment, defamatory, racially or ethnically objectionable, promotes gambling or money laundering, or incites enmity between groups
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, scrape, or extract source code, prompts, or models
• Use bots, scripts, crawlers, or other automated means
• Bypass payment, credit, or rate-limit systems
• Use the Service to make decisions about other people without their consent (e.g. compatibility readings on a non-consenting partner)
• Share, copy, resell, redistribute, or publish readings commercially
• Send abusive, sexual, threatening, or otherwise harmful content through chat
• Hold yourself out as an astrologer, counsellor, or licensed professional based on the Service's output, or give advice to others as if it were your professional advice
• Use the Service in any way that could harm minors or vulnerable individuals
Violation may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account without refund and may be reported to competent authorities.

6. USER CONTENT & LICENCE
You retain ownership of the content you submit (questions, profile data, partner data). By submitting content, you grant LifeIndex a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive, sublicensable licence to host, store, transmit, process, and display that content solely to operate the Service for you. You represent that you have all rights necessary to submit any content (including partner birth data) and that doing so does not violate any third party's privacy or rights.

7. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
All software, code, designs, UI, brand, logo, "LifeIndex", "Aura", calculations, prompt templates, and AI-generated outputs framed within the Service are the intellectual property of LifeIndex or its licensors. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or create derivative works without our prior written consent. Vedic astrology as a cultural system is not owned by LifeIndex; only our specific software and presentation are.

8. AI-GENERATED OUTPUT
AI responses are produced by third-party AI language-model systems and may contain inaccuracies, fabrications, or contradictions ("hallucinations") despite our safeguards. AI-generated content is provided "as is" with no warranty of accuracy, reliability, or suitability. LifeIndex is not responsible for AI hallucinations or decisions based on them. Report harmful AI output to support@lifeindex.io.

9. NO WARRANTIES
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, SECURITY, OR UNINTERRUPTED AVAILABILITY.

10. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW:
(a) LifeIndex, its owners, directors, employees, contractors, agents, affiliates, licensors, and service providers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, relationships, or emotional distress, arising from or related to your use of, or inability to use, the Service.
(b) Our total aggregate liability under any theory (contract, tort, negligence, statute, or otherwise) shall not exceed the greater of (i) the total amount you paid to LifeIndex in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or (ii) Indian Rupees Ten Thousand (INR 10,000).
(c) Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, gross negligence, or any liability that cannot be excluded under mandatory applicable law.

11. INDEMNIFICATION
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless LifeIndex and its owners, directors, employees, contractors, and affiliates from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of (a) your use of the Service, (b) your violation of these Terms, (c) your violation of any third-party right, or (d) any decision you or others made based on Service content.

12. SUSPENSION & TERMINATION
We may suspend, restrict, or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, for breach of these Terms, suspected fraud, abuse, legal request, or discontinuation of the Service. You may delete your account at any time from the Profile section. Sections on liability, indemnification, IP, governing law, and dispute resolution survive termination.

13. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
The Service relies on third-party providers (cloud hosting, AI language-model providers, authentication, email, payment aggregators). We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or content of these services. Third-party terms apply to your use of those services.

14. GOVERNING LAW & JURISDICTION
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Subject to Section 15, the courts at Hyderabad, Telangana shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service.

15. DISPUTE RESOLUTION
Before initiating any formal proceeding, you agree to first raise the issue with our Grievance Officer and attempt informal resolution for at least 30 days. If unresolved, the dispute shall be referred to and finally resolved by arbitration under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, by a sole arbitrator, with seat and venue at Hyderabad, Telangana, in English. The award shall be final and binding. Nothing in this Section limits your statutory right as a consumer to approach a Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.

17. FORCE MAJEURE
We are not liable for any failure or delay caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, war, riots, government action, labour strikes, epidemics, internet/power failures, or third-party service outages.

We may modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be notified in-app or by email. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

19. MISCELLANEOUS
Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Disclaimer, constitute the entire agreement between you and LifeIndex.
Severability: If any provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force.
Waiver: Our failure to enforce any right does not waive that right.
Assignment: You may not assign these Terms. We may assign to a successor or affiliate without notice.
